  • Lucidril (Centrophenoxine) 250 mg x 90 cap

    0 out of 5

    What is it used for?

Centrophenoxine is an oral supplement recommended for prevention and treatment of senile dementia, notably Alzheimer’s disease; it can be productive for correction of cognitive decline and loss of memory. It’s actions include reducing the body’s lipofuscin levels. Meclofenoxate, as well as DMAE, have been found to increase the lifespans of mice by 30–50%, and thus may be anti-aging drugs/supplements.

    How is it given?

Recommended dosage for young, healthy adults is one or two 250 mg tablets every day. Elderly adults in the process of mental deterioration may require three to six 250 mg tablets day after day. It is recommended that intakes coincide with breakfast and lunch to prevent problems with sleeping.

What are the common side effects?

Acetylcholine excess may result in muscle tension in the neck, jaw, or shoulders. Side effects may be prevented by taking breaks occasionally of once weekly. If dizziness, hyperexcitability, headache, restlessness, issues with the gastrointestinal tract, problems with sleeping, nausea, or irritability occur, cessation of Centrophenoxine for a few days should stop side effects. Treatment can continue with a smaller dosage. Due to Centrophenoxine being a subset of DMAE, teratogenic effects may be exerted, resulting in birth defects. Women the age of child-bearing and mother’s breast-feeding should abstain from ingestion (Examine.com, 2014). Centrophenoxine is also contraindicated individuals suffering from Parkinson’s, seizure disorders, or major depression.
