Pregnenolone is an endogenous steroid hormone, it is the first sterone derived from cholesterol and is a precursor to estrogen, testosterone, DHEA and progesterone.

Pregnenolone was originally used in the treatment of arthritis but has been shown to be effective in reducing stress levels and inducing relaxation. Animal tests indicate memory enhancing properties.

Dosage:The recommended dosage for Pregnenolone varies between 10-100mg per day. Dosages of up to 200mg per day have used in the treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis and up to 500mg per day for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The subjective effects of supplemental Pregnenolone sometimes take two weeks or more to become noticeable, after this period, most people notice the effects within one hour of ingestion. Pregnenolone should be taken in the morning.
Precautions: Pregnenolone should be avoided by pregnant or lactating women or persons who are at risk for hormonally related cancers.
